How to deliver the spare part to a customer as soon as possible? Have a mini-stock of spare parts at the customer’s place. In that way, if a part breaks, they can immediately take the spare – and contact you later about the replacement.
That brilliant idea saved a lot of our client’s time, but at the same time caused them some headaches. We helped turn manual work into a fully automated process that streamlined the client’s nifty solution.
Challenges
Our client was looking for an IT Partner that would help shape and digitize the process.
Requests for replacing parts were submitted by customers via phone or e-mail, and all the data about mini-stocks were updated manually. With a growing number of customers and a significant variety in prices of different parts, keeping the data organized became impossible.

Our Solution
Our team designed an application for the client’s customers. Now, when a customer is taking a part from the mini-stock, they send a notification about it via the application.
The client immediately gets information about the number of parts needed to be restocked and the value of the request.
All the data is organized and easy to analyze, which gives the client a lot of additional insights.
What is more, reports sent from the application are specially designed for ERP systems. All data concerning the spare parts – warehouse status, and production plans – is updated according to those reports.
The application was written with ASP.NET NPS/C, with SQL database, and with DevExpress controls.
Outcomes
The status of mini-stocks is updated immediately, saving a lot of time for the client’s employees.
The client can now analyse the data of the spare parts – which parts break the most, which are rarely used, which customers replace components the most often, how much is each mini-stock worth and so on.
It is now possible for the client to fully control the budget allocated in the mini-stocks.
Optimization at its best! It allows the client to make changes in agreements or production plans, making the business more profitable.
After carefully evaluating suppliers, we decided to try a new approach and start working with a near-shore software house. Cooperation with Hicron Software House was something different, and it turned out to be a great success that brought added value to our company.
